Like many in the Shaheen family, Ivette was drawn to Whitney & Company work life by virtue of her home life with her husband, Bill. She’s supported the firm for more than 25 years, and says it helps that she and Bill make a good team both at home and at work.

As office manager over a long period of time, Ivette has watched as the firm has grown—and as her two children, Billy and Danielle—have grown up with it. Both kids now work at Whitney & Company, too. She says seeing her son and daughter come into their own at the firm has been an especially proud moment. And the fact that the family has all found a place of their own in the same workplace is a testament to their approach to treating clients like family, too. Ivette has always liked the respect colleagues find at Whitney & Company—a place where you’re more likely to hear “we” and “our” than “me” and “mine.”

Outside of work, Ivette enjoys gardening and crafting, and can often be found in her craft room painting flowerpots, creating wreaths, or making gifts for friends at holiday time. She also enjoys spending time with her grandchildren and playing golf—with Bill.
